5-4-3-2-1 – A Shoutout to Mel Robbins and My Whole Health Plan

I have to give a huge shoutout to Mel Robbins. Her 5-Second Rule—counting down 5-4-3-2-1 and taking action—has completely transformed the way I approach my Whole Health Plan. It’s simple, powerful, and, most importantly, it works.

Before, I struggled with hesitation. Whether it was getting out of bed early, making healthy food choices, or pushing through a tough workout, I’d overthink and talk myself out of it. But now, I use 5-4-3-2-1 to cut through doubt and just move—before my brain can come up with excuses.

Here’s how I’ve applied it:

  1. Morning Movement – Instead of debating whether I should run at 5:30 AM, I count down and just go before my mind drags me back to bed.
  2. Healthy Eating – When I reach for something I know won’t fuel me, I use 5-4-3-2-1 to shift my focus to the foods that support my energy and training.
  3. Mindset Reset – When self-doubt creeps in, I use the countdown to reframe my thoughts and take control of my mindset.

It’s not about motivation, it’s about action. The 5-Second Rule has helped me stick to my plan, build better habits, and take charge of my health. So, thank you, Mel Robbins, for this game-changing tool! If you’re stuck, just count down and GO!
